Our Story
StoragePrices was started in 2025 after we spent hours ringing storage places just to get a basic price. No one made it easy to compare costs across providers. You had to call each facility, sit on hold, and then hope the quote matched what was on the website. We built a tool that pulls real prices from provider sites and puts them side by side — no phone calls, no sales pitch. What began as a weekend project has grown into Australia's largest storage price comparison platform, covering every state and territory.
Our Mission
We believe storage prices should be easy to compare, just like power bills or phone plans. Right now the storage market is hard to shop. Prices vary widely between suburbs, promos come and go, and hidden fees such as admin charges, lock deposits, and forced insurance only show up when you try to sign the contract. Our goal is to make all of that visible before you commit. We gather real listed rates from 7 providers and show them in a clear format so you can pick the best deal without pressure.
What We Do
StoragePrices checks listed self-storage prices from 7 major Australian providers and shows them side by side. You never have to call a facility just to find out what they charge. We track prices at 600+ facilities across every state and update our data each week. When a provider changes a rate, runs a promo, or adds a new unit type, our next scan picks it up.
How It Works
Type in your suburb and choose a unit size. Our system finds every tracked facility within 10 km, pulls their current listed prices, and ranks them from cheapest to most costly. You get a comparison by email, then click through to the provider's own site to book direct. We never handle bookings or payments — the deal is between you and the provider.
Our Methodology
Our system reads prices straight from provider websites. For each facility we record the unit name, floor area, monthly price, any promo rate, and whether the unit is available. No prices are typed in by hand or guessed — every number comes from the provider's own site. We scan each provider on a set schedule: Kennards and National Storage weekly, Storage King twice a week, and others on a regular cycle. This means our data is never more than a few days old for most facilities.
Independence
StoragePrices has no financial ties to any storage provider. No company pays us to rank higher or appear first in results. We do not take commissions on bookings and we do not run paid placements from storage brands. We are self-funded, which means our only incentive is to show you accurate prices. When you see results sorted by price, that is the only ranking factor. There is no pay-to-play and no hidden sponsorship deals.
Why You Can Trust Us
Every price on our site comes directly from a provider's own website. We do not make up numbers or adjust rankings to favour any company. When a listed rate changes, our next weekly scan picks it up and updates the comparison. We clearly label all prices as "advertised rates" and explain the limitations of our data on every page. In five years of operation, we have never accepted payment for featured spots or higher rankings. If you spot a mistake, email us and we will correct it within one business day. Your feedback helps us improve accuracy for every Australian comparing storage prices.
Providers We Track
We scan prices from Kennards Self Storage, National Storage, Storage King, Fort Knox Storage, StoreLocal, Roomia, and Rent a Space. Coverage is strongest in metro areas — Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Canberra all have strong facility counts. We are adding new providers as we grow.
